Tonya Van Heyde

Certified Peer Support Specialist

Tonya resides in Myrtle Beach. She is originally from Lucasville, Ohio. Tonya graduated from Valley High School and has since became a certified peer support specialist and substance abuse specialist. Tonya has been married to her husband, Brendan, for three years. She has two children who are 20 years old and 17 years old. She has a fur baby named Kronk and she loves to support rescue animals. Tonya has been employed with Shoreline for six years. She has progressed with us, having four different positions since her tenure began. Tonya has been a Substance Abuse Specialist at our former Women’s Recovery Center, clerical assistant, MAT billing specialist and her current position is Certified Peer Support Specialist. Tonya has been in long term recovery from substance use for nine and a half years. Her job at Shoreline includes keeping up with GPRA, meeting with high-risk clients, coordinating schedules and care with providers, counselors and supervisors, providing community resources, providing non-judgmental support and helping to create a safe space for clients learning to navigate recovery. Tonya has been the co-chair of the Trama Informed Care committee for three years. One thing on Tonya’s bucket list is to attend an Ohio State Buckeyes football game in Columbus, Ohio at The Shoe.
