Nurse Practitioner – Part-Time

Shoreline BHS is seeking a part-time nurse practitioner (NP) with prescriptive authority to provide services to clients of Shoreline Behavioral Health System (SBHS) to include substance use disorder examinations, physical and mental status examinations, and medication management, including psychiatric medication management and medication assisted treatment (MAT) for opioid use disorder (OUD) and alcohol use disorder. The medical provider will see clients engaging in MAT and referred through SBHS.   They will also perform specific duties related to the CTN-Retention, Duration, and Discontinuation (RDD) Research Study conducted on-site at Shoreline in collaboration with the Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC).  This study evaluates the effectiveness of different strategies to improve the retention, duration and discontinuation of medications for OUD, including buprenorphine and naltrexone.

Duties include assessment to determine medication and treatment needs. Prescribing medications and treatments with attention to existing medical diagnoses and concomitant therapies. Meet with patients in a timely manner in order to monitor and evaluate progress and recommend necessary changes to their medication assisted treatment interventions. Document all evaluations of and interactions with patients including administration of medications and treatments in compliance with regulatory standards established by governing bodies. Work collaboratively with internal team members including counselors, referral sources and external service providers to ensure appropriate patients’ progress and treatment plans and ensure continuity of care after discharge. Complete all direct service EHR documentation according to department standards and timelines. Ensure understanding of Evaluation and Management procedures as well as procedure coding to ascertain proper billing for patients and appropriate financial billings. Acquire knowledge and demonstrate use of the most up to date evidence-based practices in the field. Pursue professional development trainings and education that support agency mission, values and strategies.

QUALIFICATIONS: Must have completed an accredited nurse practitioner program with the ability to practice as a licensed nurse practitioner without limitations in the state of South Carolina with 5+ years’ experience.  Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment. Previous experience in clinical research and addiction with the treatment of opioid and SUD preferred.

Finance Assistant – Part-Time

The Finance Assistant will work with the Corporate Compliance Officer and the Director of Finance to develop a transparent and redundant system in the areas of segregation of duties and internal controls. Some of the duties will include: cross-training on how to prepare agency budget; monitoring expenditures and cash position; coordinating and assisting the audit process; preparing when needed the financial reports for Board of Officers and outside agencies; ensuring compliance with federal, state, local and agency reporting requirements; assisting with review and development of fiscal policies and procedures; generating W-2s and 1099s. Cross-training on payroll and the grant management system, as well as on all ADP/Human Resources duties, Medication Assisted Treatment Services, and billing. The Finance Assistant will be under the supervision of the Director of Administration/Corporate Compliance Officer.

NOTE: This position is part-time and will require 20-25 hours worked per week.

QUALIFICATIONS:  Associate degree in accounting or finance-related field required with at least 3 years of financial management experience, preferably in a non-profit setting. Bachelor’s or master’s degree preferred. Advanced computer skills to include Excel, including spreadsheet creation and proficiency in QuickBooks general ledger and payroll functions. Ability to collect and report data accurately.

Peer Recovery Coach – Full-Time

Acts as a liaison between Shoreline Behavioral Health Services and Tidelands Health Emergency Department to coordinate services for emergency room patients identified as having a substance use disorder.  Provides and coordinates referrals, assists clients, provides health education to clients on topics such as substance use and provides case management services.  Documents all attempts to link clients to care, conducts surveys at prescribed intervals, facilitates transportation for clients as needed and works closely with both Shoreline and emergency department staff.

NOTE: This is a full-time, grant-funded position, and will be located at Shoreline Behavioral Health Services in Conway initially but will eventually be located full-time in the Tidelands Health Emergency Department. Once located in the Tidelands Health Emergency Department, the ideal candidate must be available for 2nd shift work weekdays and/or weekends.

QUALIFICATIONS: Must be in recovery with at least 1 year of abstinence/sobriety. Peer Support Credentials preferred. Requires basic computer skills and ability to accurately collect and report data.  Must be compassionate and nonjudgmental, culturally competent, a self-starter who can work independently and as part of a team.  Previous experience with SUD and mental health clients preferred.

Medicaid Targeted Case Manager/Community Health Worker – Full-Time

Entry level clinical position requiring the provision of case management services to a target population of agency clients to assist them in gaining access to needed medical, social, educational, and other services through assessment, care planning, referral, and linkage. They will also be responsible for monitoring and follow-up with clients as well as documenting the process using approved guidelines.

QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college in the Human Services field with at least one year of documented experience working with individuals with psychoactive substance disorders. A working knowledge of families and/or systems theory, knowledge of community resources, and training in crisis intervention, effective communication and cultural diversity/competency is preferred.

Intensive Case Manager – Full-Time

This is an entry level clinical position requiring the provision of Intensive Case Management services to a target population of agency clients to assist them in gaining access to needed medical, social, educational and other services through assessment, care planning, referral and linkage and monitoring and follow-up.

Duties include working closely with OUD (Opioid Use Disorders) clients in IOP, aftercare and involved in Medication Assisted Treatment (MAT) to identify and address their Psycho-Social Rehabilitation (PRS) needs (treatment, recovery and follow-up deficits). Work closely with agency DSS and DJJ Liaisons to coordinate care of client families. Follow-up with clients diagnosed with OUD who have disengaged from treatment to re-engage them in services. Establish and conduct Mutual Aid Groups for Shoreline clients and appropriate family members who have Moderate to Severe Opioid Use Disorders. Regularly sit-in on treatment groups to provide support and role models success in recovery. Assists clients to gain access to Medication Assisted Treatment.

QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor’s degree in Human Services with Peer Support Specialist crendential preferred. Minimum requirements are High School Diploma or GED, three years related experience with Substance Use Disorders (SUD) population and good written and communications skills.

Clinical Counselor – Full-Time

Duties include completion of diagnostic assessments in an outpatient facility as well crisis management, group, individual, and family counseling with adolescents who have been identified as having a substance use disorder. Must be able to work independently and as a team member and possess excellent time-management skills.

QUALIFICATIONS: LPC, LISW-CP, LMFT, LMSW, or Master’s degree in human service-related field and working toward licensure preferred. Bachelor’s degree required.  Applicant must be willing to explore and learn cutting-edge treatment modalities and possess excellent documentation and time-management skills.  Experience working with adolescents and the family unit is preferred.
