We are looking for enthusiastic individuals with a passion for helping those with substance use disorders. You would be responsible for approval of agency polices, finances and goals. You would regularly evaluate and review agency operations and would adopt bylaws and ensure the agency operates within them. Applicants should have specific experience and/or knowledge in at least one element: administration, finance, personnel, program development, evaluation, public relations or communications. Certified Medical Assistant – Full-time
Shoreline BHS is seeking a certified medical assistant (CMA) who functions as a member of the treatment team. Under supervision, assists providers and clinicians with patient care of opioid addiction and substance use disorders (SUD).
Duties include recording patient data prior to office visits including but not limited to taking and recording vital signs, current medications, and medical histories. Completing urine analysis drug screens, blood draws, breathalyzer testing, HIV testing, and pregnancy testing as directed by the provider. Triage patient phone calls as needed. Manage patient medication refill requests including obtaining prior authorizations and coordination with pharmacy as well as documenting information appropriately in the patient’s medical record. Pulling test orders from requisition or pulling orders from database, as well as managing standing orders. Administrative duties include scheduling appointments, requesting, and sending medical records, addressing voicemail messages and mail as directed by the provider (copying, faxing, etc.).

QUALIFICATIONS: High school diploma and Medical Assistant Certification from an accredited teaching establishment is required; 2 years of medical assisting and phlebotomy work experience is required. HIV certification through SC Dept. of Public Health preferred and required post-employment if not already certified. Must be able to interact with patients in a courteous, helpful and compassionate manner. Must be willing to complete required screenings as requested by provider and supervisor.
Billing Specialist – Full-Time
Duties include all aspects of commercial insurance, managed care organizations (MCO) and Medicaid billing requirements such as monitoring claim status and researching rejections, outstanding claims, and denials to ensure timely reimbursements. Documenting related account activities, posting payments for various insurance companies, discussing insurance coverage with clients, and auditing accounts. Troubleshooting errors and submitting batches to DHHS electronically. Requesting prior authorizations for services from insurance providers and monitoring to insure continued coverage. Verifying client insurance coverage and obtaining necessary authorizations.
QUALIFICATIONS: High school diploma or equivalent. Experience in medical and/or behavioral health billing is preferred. Familiarity with HIPAA laws and confidentiality practices. Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel. Strong knowledge of medical collection practices and procedures. Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and record keeping. Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to effectively communicate with insurance companies, providers, and clients. Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment. This is NOT a remote position. Applicant must be willing to work in-person at our office in Conway, SC.

Nurse Practitioner – Full-Time
Shoreline BHS, a 501c3 non-profit agency, is seeking a full-time nurse practitioner to work in their medication assisted treatment program. Duties to include substance use disorder examinations, physical and mental status examinations, and medication management, including psychiatric medication management and medication assisted treatment (MAT) for opioid use disorder (OUD) and alcohol use disorder. This position may occasionally be a part of clinical trials in partnership with MUSC.
