Shoreline BHS engages in a strategic planning process every 3 years in which a variety of input and information is analyzed. This information comes from consumers of our services, referral sources, community groups, funders, and also aggregate demographic data. The process also includes an analysis of the organization’s strengths, and weaknesses and emerging opportunities and potential threats. Out of this process a strategic plan is formulated and the “critical issues” for the agency are developed and measurable goals are developed to address them. We also welcome your ideas and input as to improvements in services that we currently provide and new services that you think we should develop! Please email your suggestions to our Executive Director John Coffin, at john.coffin@shorelinebhs.org. The following is a summary of the issues that we are addressing in our FY 2008 – 2010 Strategic Plan. Copies of the full plan are available on request.
- Shoreline Behavioral Health Services will maintain its ability to provide effective, efficient, and accessible alcohol and drug treatment services through the aggressive pursuit of funding.
- Shoreline Behavioral Health Services will formalize a marketing plan and develop a comprehensive strategy to improve name recognition and community support for its mission and vision.
- Shoreline Behavioral Health Services will increase services to the area’s adolescent population through intervention and treatment services.
- Increase Prevention Programming through the development and implementation of evidence based program management plans.
- Develop prevention services to increase the synergy and points of contact between prevention and treatment, particularly in respect to services for children, adolescents and families.
- Upgrade the existing technology (hardware and software) utilized to provide direct and indirect services, including data management and clinical services.
- Engage in a process of organizational restructuring and development with special focus on improving client access to services by removing barriers wherever possible and improving retention in services. Our goal is to make our services comprehensive and easy to access, particularly for those individuals with co-occurring conditions and other problems that present obstacles to succussful outcomes.
