Psychoactive Substance Abuse Dependency

Shoreline Behavioral Health Services operates a 10 bed Psychoactive Substance Abuse Dependency facility (PSAD) for male and female adults wishing to recover from alcohol or drug addictions. The PSAD provides two types of treatment services. (See below.)

* Social Detoxification (ASAM, PPC-2, Level III 2-D) is designed to provide a safe and effective non-medical detoxification for those not in need of inpatient medical services. Social detoxification treatment usually lasts from three to six days depending on the nature and extent of detoxification services required.

* Clinically Managed Low Intensity Residential Services (ASAM PPC-2 Level III.1) is for those requiring stabilization and treatment beyond detoxification. The residential component is designed to assist clients in establishing long-term recovery from chemical dependency. Residential care is often combined with other types of services such as Intensive Outpatient Treatment (IOP).

Each client's individual needs are assessed in terms of his or her specific recovery requirements. A plan is developed in conjunction with the client and family that provides care, tailored to help facilitate a broad-based recovery for everyone concerned.

The focus of residential care is to provide a safe, supportive place to live while a person re-establishes family relations, employment and their own independent living arrangements. During this time we continue to assist by working with the client towards restoration of psychological, physical, social, and spiritual health.
